To gain the CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma, you will be required to complete five core modules which total 42 credits and three elective modules making up the remaining 18 credits.
You will study the following five core modules:
Managing Teams and Individuals (L5M1)
L5M1 explores the different schools of thought and the variety of approaches to the management of individuals and teams involved in procurement and supply function.
Managing Supply Chain Risk (L5M2)
L5M2 provides you with the various tools and techniques for assessing the level of risk within supply chains, as well as the ability to apply methods for avoiding, mitigating, or managing risks.
Managing Contractual Risk (L5M3)
L5M3 provides you with an understanding of the legal and procedural issues related to contract formation and their implications. You will learn how to assess the impact of contract breaches as well as the coping remedies and provisions for addressing these issues.
Advanced Contract & Financial Management (L5M4)
L5M4 explores the tools and techniques that can be applied to measure and develop contract performance. You will learn about the importance of efficient and effective management of finance in procurement and supply.
Managing Ethical Procurement and Supply (L5M5)
L5M5 develops your understanding of the impact of sustainability in supply chains. You will gain the knowledge and skills to ensure compliance with ethical and sustainable practices in procurement and supply.
You will select three elective modules from the below, totalling 18 credits:
Category Management (L5M6)
L5M6 provides you with an understanding of the approaches that can be used to develop category management as well as the strategic impact of the category management process.
Competitive Advantage Through the Supply Chain (L5M7)
L5M7 explores a range of processes that can support the achievement of competitive advantage and the improvements in organisational performance through its supply chain.
Project and Change Management (L5M8)
L5M8 provides you with an understanding of the approaches to planning and managing projects in the context of procurement and supply functions. You will learn about the challenges associated with and methods of implementing organisational change through successful project management.
Operations Management (L5M9)
L5M9 provides you with an understanding of the concepts of operations management linked to the efficiency and effectiveness of supply chains.
You will learn about the different tools and techniques that can be utilised within an organisation to support operations management.
Logistics Management (L5M10)
L5M10 explores the logistics management concepts that contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of supply chain. You will gain an understanding of strategies, processes, and systems that are aimed at optimising or improving supply chain logistics.
Advanced Negotiation (L5M15)
L5M15 develops your knowledge of the key stages of the negotiation process. You will explore how relationships and ethics impact outcomes as well as the methods and behavioural factors that can influence others during negotiations.
